Arizona was a band that existed from the summer of 2005 until the winter of 2009. Arizona started in NYC and ended in Asheville, NC. Arizona was a good ride, complete with strange tunes, wild tours with amazing bands and countless hours spent squirreling away sounds in studios. Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub produced this lush and hooky collection of pop songs. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 29, 2019. Love Is Love by WOODS.

Arizona, a relatively new, up-and-coming band from (where else?) Brooklyn (but also Asheville, North Carolina), have followed up their low-key 2006 full-length Welcome Back, Dear Children with a substantial EP and, if rumors are true, a new full length album not too far off. The prodigious output's well appreciated - there's enough innovation in the quintet's psych-folk outlook to produce something quite special. The group's not quite there yet - their EP Fameseeker and the Mono's a good case in point - but there's obvious potential.

About sometime in the middle of 2006, indie rock became a dirty word. Whether caused by a surge in popularity of bands like The Arcade Fire and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, thus prompting hipsters to hate it by default, or internet mp3 blog overload, the indie icons of America, particularly Sufjan, became targets of ridicule as much as targets of fanboy affection

The Sun and the Moon is the second album by New York-based rock band The Bravery. The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien and released in the United States on May 22, 2007 (see 2007 in music). The album's title comes from lyrics in both "Angelina" and "The Ocean".

Another Brooklyn band, Arizona is one whose pop-rock sound would be more at home in the their native North Carolina; despite press materials that insist that the their music is a suitable soundtrack to life in NYC, Fameseeker and the Mono is pure rural simplicity. And contrary to the EP’s promo sticker, it has nothing in common with Deerhoof.
