Steely Dan - Katy Lied album download

Usually, such a studied recording method would drain the life out of each song, but that's not the case with Katy Lied, which actually benefits from the duo's perfectionist tendencies. Each song is given a glossy sheen, one that accentuates not only the stronger pop hooks, but also the precise technical skill of the professional musicians drafted to play the solos. Essentially, Katy Lied is a smoother version of Pretzel Logic, featuring the same cross-section of jazz-pop and blues-rock. The lack of innovations doesn't hurt the record, since the songs are uniformly brilliant.
Steely Dan produced some of some of the most literate pop records of the '70s. Named after a sex toy from the William Burroughs junkie novel Naked Lunch, Steely Dan had evolved from a bona fide group to, at the time of Katy Lied's 1975 release, a collection of studio hot shots, with Walter Becker and Don Fagen writing, producing, and singing all vocals. Steely Dan had stopped touring, so this dynamic duo spent thousands of studio hours crafting their pop masterpieces. Although Katy Lied isn't as hit-laden as their three prior albums. Black Friday" was the AM hit from.

Steely Dan - Everyone's Gone To the Movies (Katy Lied, March, 1975). Steely Dan - Countdown To Ecstasy (1973, Studio Album ) 01 Bodhisattva. Steely Dan Katy Lied 1975, Studio Album 05 Doctor Wu. Chords: D.
Along with Pretzel Logic, Katy is an album of transition, and perhaps the most impressive thing about both albums is the degree of refinement that both albums display. Unlike the former three albums, however, is Katy's increasing emphasis on texture and jazz
