Folk Singer is the fourth studio album by Muddy Waters, released in April 1964 by Chess Records. The album features Waters on acoustic guitar, backed by Willie Dixon on string bass, Clifton James on drums, and Buddy Guy on acoustic guitar. It is Waters's only all-acoustic album. Numerous reissues of Folk Singer include bonus tracks from two subsequent sessions, in April 1964 and October 1964.

Baritone Arne Dørumsgaard along with tenor Duncan Robertson and soprano Irene Joachim sing a variety of German songs ranging from Johannes Brahms’ In Stiller Nacht ( In the Still of the Night ) and Schwesterlein to the traditional Christmas carol O Tannenbaum! and folk song Muss I Denn, popularized by Elvis Presley and Joe Dowell in 1961 with the English version Wooden Heart. An orchestra conducted by Robert Cornman accompanies the singers. The song lyrics are printed in German in the liner notes.
