Complete your The Heptones, Sound Dimension collection. This master release has issues of Fatty Fatty by the Heptones with a version on the flip side. These are Studio One/C. It should be noted that this will always effectively be a repress as the original issue from 1967 was The Heptones, Jackie Mittoo - Fattie Fattie, Jump For Joy, Jamaican records started appearing with versions from the 1970's.
The album, which features a more defined soul and jazz sound for Studio One, kicks off with Im & David’s first hit Money Maker, seeing these two great hornsmen blowing in fine style over a riddim played by Sound Dimension that was used for The Heptones’ Fattie Fattie. Money Maker also appeared on the 1970 released Studio One LP Freedom Sound, where it was retitled Soul Food. Next comes Black Is Black across Lloyd Williams’ Is It Because I’m Black riddim, a truly beautiful instrumental that caresses the eardrums and can be heard over and over again. The same can be said about.

The Heptones recorded for major Jamaican record producers at the time. Some of their instrumental session work was released as the Soul Vendors and Sound Dimension. Amongst the rhythms featuring Sibbles' bass playing are Alton Ellis' "I'm Still in Love", "Full Up" (used on Musical Youth's "Pass The Dutchie"), and The Abyssinians "Satta Massagana" . In 1975, The Heptones signed an album deal with Island Records. Two albums resulted: Night Food in 1976 and Party Time in 1977.
