The Breeders - Pod album download

Pod is the debut album by American alternative rock band the Breeders, released by 4AD records in May 1990. Engineered by Steve Albini, it features band leader Kim Deal on vocals and guitar, Josephine Wiggs on bass, Britt Walford on drums, and Tanya Donelly on guitar. Albini's production prioritized sound over technical accomplishment; the final takes favor the band's spontaneous live "in studio" performances.
Pod (The Breeders album). Pod is the debut album by the American alternative rock band the Breeders, released on 4AD in May 1990. The seeds of the group began when the Pixies' Kim Deal and Throwing Muses' Tanya Donelly became friends in 1988 and decided they would like to create music together. Abandoning their initial idea of focusing on dance music, they recorded a country-influenced demo with musicians including violinist Carrie Bradley and bassist Ray Holiday in 1989. When 4AD cofounder Ivo Watts-Russell heard the demo, he offered them money to re-record the songs for an album release.
In the late 1990s, Kim and Kelley reformed The Breeders with a new line-up (including members of the band Fear) and released two more albums, Title TK in 2002 and Mountain Battles in 2008.
Rough Trade, Rough Trade, 4AD, 4AD. RTDCD 168, CD 1-381. Definitely the best Breeders album and so much more than that, it's simply a perfect record. Albini considers this the finest sound he ever got out of a band and while I'm no veteran of his collected works, I can't disagree. Répondre Voir les 4 reponses Notifiez moi 2 Helpful.

The newly formed Breeders release their debut album in that same year. The flow of the album sounds so effortlessly tremendous that it's hard not to enjoy even tiny bits of Pod. Even if initially conceived as a simple side project, and even if The Breeders retain many traits of Pixies and Throwing Muses, they're far more than a basic blueprint of Deal and Donelly's main bands, managing to create a unique sound altogether. Creative, catchy and easy to listen to, Pod is probably among some of the most strong and underappreciated, overlooked alternative rock albums of the 90's.
