Stephen James Howe (born 8 April 1947) is an English musician, songwriter and producer, best known as the guitarist in the rock band Yes across three stints since 1970. Born in Holloway, North London, Howe developed an interest in the guitar and began to learn the instrument himself at age 12. He embarked on a music career in 1964, first playing in several London-based blues, covers, and psychedelic rock bands for six years, including the Syndicats, Tomorrow, and Bodast.

Stephen James "Steve" Howe (born 8 April 1947 in Holloway, North London, England) is an English guitarist, known for his work with the progressive rock group Yes. He has also been a member of The Syndicats, Bodast, Tomorrow, Asia and GTR, as well as having released 19 solo albums as of 2010.

The Steve Howe Album is the title of Yes guitarist Steve Howe's second solo album. It was released in 1979. The album featured current (Alan White) and former (Bill Bruford and Patrick Moraz) Yes band members. When Yes called their third album The Yes Album, it was probably because that's when they really hit their stride and formed a distinct sound. The songs from the first two albums were soon even phased out of live performances. I wonder if by calling his second solo release The Steve Howe Album, Howe is trying to convey the same message.
