THE CRIMSON PROJEKCT, the KING CRIMSON offshoot featuring three current members of that band, recently announced the release of Live In Tokyo via InsideOutMusic on March 18th. King Crimson toured the album from 28 September 1994 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; following concerts were released on the double live B'Boom: Live in Argentina in 1995. The meaning of THRAK. the first one is: a sudden and precise impact moving from direction and commitment in service of an aim. The second definition is: 117 guitars almost hitting the same chord simultaneously. At the end of the four ProjeKct runs, Bruford left King Crimson altogether to resume his work in jazz. At the same time, Levin's commitments as a session and touring musician forced him to take an indefinite break from the band. The remaining members (Fripp, Belew, Gunn and Mastelotto) reconvened as a "Double Duo" to write and record The Construkction of Light in Belew's basement and garage near Nashville.
The Crimson ProjeKCt is a King Crimson offshoot featuring Adrian Belew, Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto performing the music of King Crimson primarily focusing on the ’80 and ’90 repertoire including songs from the ’60/’70 period as well.
