The Peterson's field guide of birds of Eastern and Central North America is formatted with the description and illustrations of the bird on same page. Another complaint I have with this guide is for some bird families (like gulls or terns) the illustrations only show the bird "in flight" not as it would stand about and roost. I took a ton of pictures of the birds and most are of the bird at rest  . I guess I'm spoiled by the excellence of "The Sibley Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America.

Author: Roger Tory Peterson, Guy Mountfort, P. A. D. Hollom ISBN 10: 0002190737. Used-like N : The book pretty much look like a new book. There will be no stains or markings on the book, the cover is clean and crisp, the book will look unread, the only marks there may be are slight bumping marks to the edges of the book where it may have been on a shelf previously. Read full description. See details and exclusions. This book is a classic and the format still makes for a great field guide. Though the species distribution of some birds has changed dramatically, over the past decades! I have two copies and have owned one of them since childhood. Now cheap enough to have one in the car and not be too precious with it! Highly recommended. Verified purchase: Yes.
