Bob Wills Is Still the King" is a song written and performed by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, as a tribute of sorts to the Western swing icon Bob Wills. It is known in two forms. A live recording of the song was released in June 1975 as the concluding track on the album Dreaming My Dreams, and then appeared in August 1975 as the B-side of "Are You Sure Hank Done It This Way", the second single from the album.

Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys Format: Audio Cassette. Best Of Bob Wills, Volume 1. "Please retry". The tracks on this album are later recordings of Bob Wills from 1965 until his death. They are, by and large, not recorded with the Playboys (though one or two show up on a few tracks). Instead of the 30's/40's West Texas sound I love, these recordings have something of a Vegas/Sinatra 60's feel to them, especially in the backing. I'd recommend The Essential Bob Wills or The Anthology instead.

Album · 2006 · 16 Songs. Unless you fancy yourself the ardent fan or completist collector, this near perfect, 18 song deep collection could be all the Bob Wills that you will ever need. Compiling Wills and his Texas Playboys' best recordings from 1935 to 1950, was a great idea, if only for the fact that the endearingly dated production delivers listening experience akin to hearing these songs piped from the antiquated speakers of an old wooden radio. His later recordings are also good, but hardly as indicative of the time. Just try for instance not to smile after hearing Leon McAuliffe pick and.
