Apparently Edelweiss' only real hit "Bring me Edelweiss" was made following the guidelines in the book. One of the instructions of The Manual was to "Compose your music with bits you've nicked from other songs" - Hence "Bring Me Edelweiss" is full of samples. The line "Ah Yeah" is off a Timmy Mallet hit, versions of "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life" by Indeep can be heard from about 02:57 to 03:09, and the "Ow!" that appears occasionally, is from "Rock Me Amadeus" by Falco. Edelweiss were an Austrian group comprising of Walter Werzowa, Martin Gletschermayer and Matthias Schweger. They claimed to be the first group to combine authentic Austrian folk music with rap, hip hop and house. Werzowa's other claim to fame was composing the famous "Intel bong" jingle that accompanies the advertising for Intel's products.

Edelweiss – Bring Me Edelweiss – Official Music Video. The first single by Austrian dance band (Martin Gletschermayer, Matthias Schweger and Walter Werzowa) was released in 1988. Bring Me Edelweiss consists of large parts of ABBA‘s SOS and Indeep’s Last Night a DJ Saved My Life and features Austrian folk music vocalist Maria Mathis. The single hit number 1 spot on the singles charts in Austria, Sweden and Switzerland, in Germany in the UK and on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart in the United States.
Track 1 listed as "Bring Me Edelweiss (Single Version)" on disc, and as "Bring Me Edelweiss (Single . " on tray insert. Track 2 listed as "Bring Me Edelweiss (Tourist Version)" on disc, and as "Bring Me Edelweiss (Tourist . As a result the album gets repetitive and boring while it reaches the end. That's really sad - as first 2 tracks are really hot, and for 1988 (year of original release) they were probably unbelievably hot & fresh. The production on tracks 1 & 2 was probably inspired by such hits as Coldcut's "Beats & Pieces" and remix of Eric B & Rakim's "Paid in Full" + "Pump Up The Volume" by MARRS. They contain all hit elements of the year, such as hip-house beats, house pianos, raps, bizarre samples + scratching on classical music records.
