Keyboardist Sivuca often hangs with the laidback avant/jazz/bossa school, but he's satisfactorily unpredictable. This recent recording is typically atypical: the man spends most of his time playing accordion, of all things, with strong echoes of the marvellous northeastern Brazilian forro idiom. The result is super - mellow, original, and in no way forced.
