Amorphis - Tales From The Thousand Lakes. Death - Baptized In Blood.

Land of a Thousand Dances" (or "Land of 1000 Dances") is a song written and first recorded by Chris Kenner in 1962. The song is famous for its "na na na na na" hook, which Cannibal & the Headhunters added in their 1965 version, which reached number 30 on the Billboard chart. Thee Midniters, an American group out of East Los Angeles, was one of the first Chicano rock bands to cover "Land of a Thousand Dances", scoring a local hit in 1965.

This album now features the bonus studio run-through versions of "Dance Of The Dawn" and "Giants Under the Sun". And for those that not only like and appreciate Yes' other classic progressive works but want to get even closer to the edge, there is nothing quite like "Tales From Topographic Oceans".

Album Name Tales from the Thousand Lakes. Data wpisu 01 Czerwiec 1994. Wydawcy Nuclear Blast Relapse Records. This the second album from a new (lol) band called Amorphis, from Finland, one of the countries who makes fine metal, and black metal in particular, so I was eager to listen if they could match some of the other Nordic bands that are on top of great metal nowadays. The introduction spreads a scent of mysticism and leaves us waiting for what's to come and hell, what a first track: Into Hiding is a short song, so rash with wicked-sounding vocals and heavy drums and a very very dense sound in guitars.

I've always regarded their Tales From the Thousand Lakes as the greatest melo-death album of all time, and few bands can boast a run of releases as consistently brilliant as Eclipse through Skyforger. The Beginning of Times had some great songs, but was overlong, a bit bloated and dragged badly on the back-end. I'm sure I wasn't alone in expecting a big bounce back from the Finnish titans, and it was with typically high expectations that I welcomed the Circle promo when it finally arrived
