Live at Topanga Corral is a 1971 live album by Canned Heat. Canned Heat was under contract to Liberty Records at the time and Liberty did not want to do a live album, so manager Skip Taylor told Liberty that the album had been recorded in 1966 & 1967 at the Topanga Corral and released the record with Wand Records to avoid legal complications.
Canned Heat is the 1967 debut album by Canned Heat. It was released shortly after their appearance at the Monterey Pop Festival, and is a blues cover album. Canned Heat was re-released on CD in 1999 by French label MAM Productions under the title Rollin' and Tumblin'. Bob Hite – lead vocals (except Help Me ). Alan Wilson – rhythm and slide guitar, lead vocals on Help Me, harmonica. Henry Vestine – lead guitar.
Recorded live at The Topanga Corral, Topanga Canyon, California 1966-67. This album contains 46:37 of original boogie music! Unipak cover. Although the sleeve and title state otherwise, this album is from a concert at the Kaleidoscope in Hollywood, California, as is stated by Fito de la Parra in his book "Living the blues" (Canned Heat Music, 2000).

Exclusively for Prime members. Sample this album Artist (Sample). Ironically, it was not really recorded at the famed Topanga Corral. It is a better album than some critics believe. Bob "The Bear" Hite is in fine voice and the old bluesmen are given respectful treatment in the covers. Henry "Sunflower" Vestine, the young guitarist, shows promise that he would later fulfill on songs like "Fried Hockey Boogie.
Live at the Topanga Corral/Vintage. This two-fer from Akarma features a pair of out of print Canned Heat LPs: Live at the Topanga Corral and Vintage, both originally issued on independent labels after the group hit the charts in the late '60s. Highlights among the 16 tracks include "Bullfrog Blues," "Straight Ahead," and "Rollin' and Tumblin'," which provide a good introduction to the band's early blues roots before psychedelia was incorporated.
