John Kazadi poetry page. Appreciating life and all its content through writing. Writing to inspire and inspired to write. The first liquid my tongue tasted wasn't breast milk It was blood that oozed through a kick My mother said bye as I opened my eyes My eyes were as white as snow In my early sixth month of existence My voice was a heavy dark melody and tears know As an egg, my shells shield my innocence It's true that.

In Slavic folklore, Baba Yaga or Baba Jaga is a supernatural being (or one of a trio of sisters of the same name) who appears as a deformed and/or ferocious-looking woman. In Russian fairytales Baba Yaga flies around in a mortar, wields a pestle, and dwells deep in the forest in a hut usually described as standing on chicken legs. Baba Yaga may help or hinder those that encounter or seek her out and may play a maternal role and has associations with forest wildlife.

Because in Slavic folklore Baba Yaga is the most terrible of creatures - an almost unstoppable manifestation of sheer will and death. Its the worst horror that someone from that culture would know. Its like referring to John Wick as the Angel of Death. The important thing is that they’re as afraid of him as a child is of Baba Yaga. If he’s, like Baba Yaga, is on your side, then your enemies will die in terror and horror, but like Baba Yaga, you never really be able to know who’s side he is on. So when you find out that its not your side, you’re not facing the risk of death, but its certainty.
