The Jimmy Dean Show is the name of several similar music and variety series on American local and network television between 1963 and 1975. Each starred country music singer Jimmy Dean as host. The Jimmy Dean Show, initially called Country Style, aired live on WTOP-TV in Washington, DC in early 1957. It was picked up by the CBS-TV network from April 8 to December 13, 1957 under the name The Morning Show from 7 to 7:45 . ET Monday–Friday before the station's regular newscast.

Jimmy Ray Dean (August 10, 1928 – June 13, 2010) was an American country music singer, television host, actor, and businessman. He was the creator of the Jimmy Dean sausage brand as well as the spokesman for its TV commercials. He became a national television personality starting on CBS in 1957.

Best known for his 1961 country & crossover hit "Big Bad John", on the country, mainstream & UK charts, Dean also hit on the country charts with 1965's "The First Thing Ev'ry Morning". His television exposure blossomed when CBS carried The Jimmy Dean Show to a wide audience. Among his widespread appearances, the early 1960's saw him host televisions The Tonight Show on occasion, and 1971 saw him cast a supporting role in the Jame Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever". His accolades include induction to the Country Music Hall Of Fame.

The Hilltop label cashed in on Jimmy Dean's popularity with this budget reissue of recordings he made for 4 Star Records in the early '50s. The dozen tracks probably comprise nearly everything he cut for 4 Star, including his first hit, "Bumming Around" from 1953. That song was a major hit for Dean, but is out of print today, which makes this album a good anthology of his early recordings. Dean's ballad style on these cuts is nearly the same as on his Columbia recordings from ten years later, although in places he tries to approximate the sound of Webb Pierce, who was.
